It Was a CAR-Full Weekend! By Mercy

Not only did Kody come and visit this weekend, but he and his Uncle Robert got quite a thrill when they looked out and our front window on Friday late afternoon, and saw THIS at the end of our driveway where it goes out onto the road…

For those who aren’t up on Exotic cars, those two dark ones are Lamborghinis. They are terribly expensive and you don’t see them very often. This was only the second time in Grammy’s 57 years that she’s seen one.

The things have a V-TWELVE engine in them! THAT, apparently equals LOTS of POWER, though Grammy figures it equals LOTS of expensive FUEL! There were also some fancy Mercedes race cars and a Ferrari. Have you ever seen a young man drool like a dawg?!? Apparently they were on an “Exotic Car Rally” that ran through here. We’ve seen a lot of Antique and Classic Car Rally’s go through here as well as BUNCHES of Motorcycle Runs, but never an “Exotic Car Rally.”

Then, this morning, Papa and Robert went into town and went to another Car show. I don’t know WHY they didn’t take at least SOME of us! I know they talked about taking me and Pippin, but then decided not to for some reason!

Grrrr… and after we’d been so nice to Kody, too. Of course, he’d been pretty nice to us to with all those treats…

They saw some of those 50’s Chevy’s that Grammy likes, and a “mock-up” of the MunsterMobile and dragster from some Munster Movie, as well as a 1912 Harley Davidson Motorcycle…(looked like a bike to Grammy until she looked closely at the name on it…)

Well, to get back to us… Would you look at these pics of Mama Dott! She doesn’t allow little kids around her unless she is being safely held by GrandPaw Robert, EXCEPT for Little Bear (Kody), but she REALLY likes him… She was trying to get his attention away from the Movie, “Cars,” that he was watching…

The Bunny Blog Hop Basket

Note: Grammy decided to let us do this because it helps save children’s lives…

Grammy’s friend, Angela from West Virginia Treasures  contacted Grammy and asked her to become part of the Hershey’s Blog Hop to benefit the Children's Miracle Network. Hershey’s has partnered with them for over 20 years, and this is THIS year’s fundraiser, and the best part is that it doesn’t cost you a thing!

Angela contacted Grammy, but when we heard about it, we figured that we love kids too, and would love to get the Dog Blog world in on this! After all, most of us really love kids, and even if we have had some of them pull our ears, etc., we should remember that our master’s were once kids, and they grew up to love us because they learned to love from others and this gives us a chance to love these sick kids!!!

Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization that raises funds for more than 170 children’s hospitals (those are vets for kids!) Countless individuals, organizations and media partners unite with Children’s Miracle Network hospitals to help sick and injured kids in local communities. Donations to CMN create miracles by funding medical care, research and education that saves and improves the lives of 17 million children each year.

Hershey's will donate $10 to the Network for each blog post -- and they'll keep on donating as long as the blog-hopping continues, up to $5,000 to benefit kids. What a wonderful thing for Hershey's to do for the children, and this gives us Corgis and our Dog Blogging friends a chance to help these sick kids, too! Is that cool or what! I don’t think anyone will gripe if we dogs get VIRTUAL chocolate, even if we can’t have much of the real stuff. I also know that Grammy loves the real stuff, and plans to buy some for her grandkids, and now she plans to make it Hersheys.

The rules are easy:

HERSHEY’S BETTER BASKET BLOG HOP RULES

~Copy and paste these rules to your blog post.

~Create a blog post giving a virtual Easter Basket to another blogger – you can give as many Virtual Baskets as you want.

~Hershey’s is donating $10 per each blog participating to the Better Basket Blog Hop to Children’s Miracle Network (up to total of $5,000 by blog posts written by April 4th, 2010).

~Please note that only one blog post by each blog url will count towards the donation.

Thank you, Hershey's for helping us to help others!

Now, I need to pass this virtual Easter basket on to others.  Happy Easter everyone! I'm only passing this on to 5 so they will have a chance to pass it on to others.
