We have gotten out of the yard before and been allowed to go around the big yards that Grammy calls corrals.
We’ve gotten to meet the big horses when they have been eating, too, but we hadn’t gotten a chance to do a FULL SCALE Squirrel Patrol before!
Boy, were we EXCITED!!!! First, Mama and Grandma OC said we needed to check under and around the Tackroom. Pippin got a little ahead of himself and ended up running around in circle because he was so excited! Mercy had to get him back on track.
When BG called the “All Clear…” we headed out to the side pasture to check the big ditch. You can see just a tiny bit of green starting to come up because of all the rain we’ve had. We ran around checking all the bushes and the holes down there, following our teachers.
We ended up getting a little bit ahead of our teachers, and went up on the hill on the other side of the ditch, so Grammy did a “Recall!” We came running back really fast, and she gave us treats just like she’s been doing every time we come when we are called… then, because we came back so good, we got to go back to the patrol.
Grandma OC was getting pretty tired coming back up the side of the ditch and stayed pretty close to Grammy the rest of the time. Mama Dott got convinced that there was something in an old barrel that was down in the ditch, and called all of us over, but we couldn’t get whatever it was out, so finally gave up.
We went on down the ditch toward the front pasture, but since Grandma OC was so tired, Grammy called us back and said that we were doing really good, but we needed to go in. (We are supposed to sit when we come back to Grammy, but she was kind of easy on us THIS time because we had come back so good when we were called.)
We came in kind of slow because Grammy and Grandma OC were tired, but we followed them really good, and finally got all the way back. Mercy didn’t want to come in when the rest of us did, and it took them another minute or two to convince her… GrandPaw Robert even used the “N” word (No) AND the “BD” words (BAD DOG) before she finally decided she’d better listen or he might come after her. She still got her treat when she DID come, but we’d gotten several by then, while they were trying to convince her, so that wasn’t to bad for us.
We went and started playing with Unca BG and our favorite toy while they convinced her. (Grammy says Mercy has a mind of her own, and she’s going to have to keep an eye on her!)

RELEASE THE CORGI's!
Good to see you all working together (including Miss Sadie) to keep the estate clear of pesky squirrels.
Slobbers,
Mango
those squirrels don't stand a chance with all those corgis going after them
I loved how you did this Linda; loved the way you told the story through the video and the words on the video; no wonder it was a lot of work!
I bet all slept good after such a day of patrolling and I bet they can't wait until they go again
betty
Linda...you didn't have a conga line...you had a corgi line! What good training you do, and the world is so big for all the corgi kids now! They are so darn happy, and well treated. You are true dog lovers...and it's a joy to see what you have to share with us each and every time!
My goodness, what an adorable pack!! I just love the "ear stage" the pups are in now...mostly straight with a little floppy every now and then!!
Really enjoyed the first squirrel patrol!!!

The Mama and Dory
They look like little angels on the last picture where they are sleeping! Precious!
We got around 12 inches of snow last night. Our electric went out at 4:20 a.m. Our generator kicked on and we are toasty warm with our fireplace on. It's 33 outside and 77 in the living room! lol
Merry Christmas!

How they have grown! And now ready to begin Squirrel Patrol!!! They'll have good teachers, no doubt! What fun - I love seeing them! Say, thanks for having OC sign my ACEO - I am posting about it today! I just love it!!!
What great videos. We were worn out just watching the great work that went into that - great teamwork guys!
We reckon corgis might even be as cute as bassets!
We could identify with the busy look.........our mum says we are usually busy doing nothing but sometimes humans just dont understand how important our work is.
We are taking a break over xmas but just wanted to stop by and wish you a very Happy Xmas.
We have loved getting to know you in 2009 and look forward to catching up with you in 2010.
Best Wishes
