Today, we learned the very sad news that our dear friend, Max from South Africa is very ill, and has gone home to spend his last days being loved by his hurting family.
We have so many great memories of Max from the time we met him when he invited Mango and so many of our DWB friends to visit at his place. He hosted one of the best vacations we have ever heard of and everyone (readers and participants) had a great time!
If you have a chance, go and read the comment that Clive and Murray (Clive is Murray's Autism dog ) left, and you will know how all of us feel about Max. Thank you, Murray for saying what we all feel in our hearts!

Hey there guys,
I want to send you 'cheer-up' wishes. Thank you for this lovely post...I have so many happy memories to cherish, and yes, what an awesome time we had during the DWB visit to my beautiful country. It's times like these that memories are important, so we have to continue creating them and relishing them.
Clive and Murray are indeed really special folk - an amazing team - together they rise higher than themselves.
Please keep the flag of 'creating memories' flying. We all have so much to be thankful for.
As for me...I had a peaceful, comfortable night and I ate some lovely chicken for breakfast. Later, a friend of mom's came to take photos - of me AND mom together (something we don't have many of...), so tell mom to get out now...and ask someone to take photos of the 'team' (Mom & Pup).
Thank you for all your wonderful wishes. We would not be able to get through this without people like you.

MAXDOG IN SOUTH AFRICA
It is so sad :( My mom has been crying yesterday when she read it on Mangos blog, stopped by at Maxs blog and now again on yours! So many tears! :(
We are thinking of Max and his family and send lots of positive energy and lick slobbers and hugs as well!

How lovely to see the update from Max.
We had never heard of blogging before we adopted Martha.
Her foster carer aka Grumpy Bobby, had a blog and we began reading that.
Mainly to see how Martha was doing.
We then decided to start a blog ourselves - initially just to let everyone know how Martha was doing.
Well from there the whole thing has grown and we have 'met' so many wonderful people and dogs from all around the world.
We feel privileged to have been part of their lives in even a small way.
We have shared lots of good, fun times and of course, as now, some sad times.
At first we worried about the sad times as it always brings us back to sad times of our own.
But we have grown to realise that these times bring out the best in the DWB community.
We know that Max and his family can feel the love for them and the support that radiates from around the world.
In a world where so many bad things happen and sometimes it feels like a lot of people don't care we feel blessed to have met you wonderful corgis and all the other great doggies out there.
xxxx
Max is a wonderful guy (and a super host - PIZZA). Our thoughts are with him and his family.
Slobbers,
Mango
We are all thinking of Max and wishing for the best comfort and fun.
I hadn't heard of Max before, but I went and read his journal; so sad for all; he looks like a wonderful dog and much loved by his family

I dread the day that we go through this in our household. With the furkids being 10 and 8, we know that it's coming down the pike.
Thanks for the memories is all we can ask for at a time like this.
Dogs give us so much....
Hi OC! My heart breaks for Max, though I was not priviledged to meet him in person I enjoyed watching the highlights of your trip with him. I was sooo touched by Clive's post and just now linked to it too! Great minds think alike huh! Thanks for stopping by to see the sporty dog shenanigans. Mom said it cost her a fortune for sure and expects me to cut back on some things to make up for it .
I have followed your pack's adventure and sorry you did not get down to the keys but man alive it was a long trip already huh? Glad you made it home safe!

What a great post! We are sending our prayers and thoughts to Max and just know that the coming days, although very hard, will be filled with love.

Max's family wants to treat it in as positive a way as possible. I'm so glad you posted the fun photo.

We love Max (and Clive and Murray, too) and just feel like our lives are better because they've all been a part of them. Max is part of our story now and because of that, he'll stay with us for a long long time.
Your pal,
Petey
We have been very sad too.
Max is a great friend.
Your post is beautiful.
Take care
Kisses and hugs

Awww that's so sad :( I am sorry about your friend Max. My thoughts go out to his family.
We are now huge fans of Clive and Murray. Well, not as huge as Mango, but we're really big fans.
I am so pleased I got my Good Boy Award. And guess what? I met a young puppy the other day and I was very sweet and tender, doing my best play bow and getting down low so the little fellow could see eye to eye with me.
Oh, we are sad for Max! Just tragic.

I am so sorry to hear this - they are our family. sandie
