We’re BACK!!! by Giml

Hi!  In case you’ve forgotten me, I’m Gimli from the Country Corgis.

The other day, I was sitting around, bored again, as usual, and going completely STIR CRAZY with cabin fever!  (Notice the facial tic I'm starting to develop...)

I happened to look over Grammy’s shoulder in our new trailer where we live now,

and saw that her friend, Chatty Crone had let their little dog, Disco, write a blog post!

I asked to read it, and then wrote a comment and got an email answer back! That was exciting!

I thought about it and then had a long talk with Grammy and asked her if maybe WE could start blogging again.

Now, though, she says that maybe she should let us do a post every once in a while to keep our friends up to date.

I hope that everyone is as excited about this as I am!!!

Twinkie’s Tongue Contest by BG

Grammy got a lot of pictures to share their Anniversary Trip with you, but that will have to wait until the next time, because we have to get our entries in for Twinkie Tinydog’s Tongue Contest.  Twinkie is hosting a Pet Photo Contest in honor of National Dog Week, and she wants everyone to:

SHOW US YOUR TONGUE

I get to host this post because they DIDN’T take me on their trip! (Which STUNK!!!) Anyway, here goes! This is my best tongue shot. What do you think, Twink? Gee, I’m a poet and didn’t know it! I am BG, and I’m a 4 year old Chorgi (Corgi/Chihuahua/Doxie Mix).

Here is my sister, Dorothy Joy Wigglebottom with her BIGGEST smiley face after a rabbit chase. She is the same age/breed as I am cause we were from the same batch of puppies.

This is my Mama, OC (Ornery Cuss) and her big smiley face after doing squirrel patrol in our side pasture a couple of years ago.

Now for the Pups. Actually, these guys and their sister are a whole year old now, so I suppose they aren’t, technically, pups, but they are still young whipper snappers to me! I am listing them in birth order, oldest to youngest:

These of Gimli and Mercy were taken after they had been running the Obstacle course in our back yard:
Gimli:  (Awww… come on, Unca Beeg… NOT the big NOSE picture!!!  How embarrassing!)
Mercy: (Thanks, Uncle BG, for show off one of my pretty posing pictures!  Blinks her big eyes...)

And, last but not least, our little Pippin, MY protégé! BIG old yawn!
Pippin:  (Is this big enough, Unca Beeg... Is it?  IS IT!?)

Well, Twinkie... What do you think?

Soapy Saturday continued...

It's NOT FAIR!  BG got HIS bath BEFORE Papa came out with the camera!  I was having a blast, playing with the water hose while Grammy soaped and washed everyone else!

Suddenly, she called MY name...  Uh, OH...

She turned the hose on me... I guess I HAD gotten a bit muddy on my toes... :(

GRAMMY!!!  You KNOW I HATE baths!

Do you SEE the LOOK in these eyes!  I am NOT happy!  I'm going to be all fluffy for a WEEK now!

We’ve GOT IT!

Mama Dott and I have MASTERED the WHOLE Obstacle Course, including the Balance Beam!

Yep! I FINALLY can do it with NO PROBLEMS!

My brothers will show you that they can do it later, but since Gimli was laughing at me the last time, Grammy said I could show you all first.

How was that?

Pippin’s Peek at the Past #3 … Remember Gracie?

I decided, since we just got an email from Gracie, and since we had tried to go see my sister, Gracie, over the weekend, that I would take you back to the post where we took to her new home.

First, here is the email that we got from my little sister and her New Mom… (I edited it to be sure that she didn’t accidentally give you an answer to my puzzle.  Also, I know it's an old picture...)

Email from Gracie and her Mom (apparently her Mom tried to censure edit some of Gracie’s letter):

Hi, Everyone!

I am sorry that we missed you on Saturday. Mom is off on the weekends, and we are often running errands or with family and friends then. Our little devil dog sweet heart is doing good. (Gracie: I had to edit Mom’s comments at times… Mom comment: She is her Dad’s little angel and my devil.) We are having a blast together.

We have gone camping several times, and me and my other two adoptive sibling-dogs play non-stop. I love playing tug a war with my 120 lb shepherd sib. We will send you new pictures as soon as Mom gets another camera because hers isn’t working. I only weigh 18.5 lbs. so am very petite! (Mom: and looks like a butter ball.)

I am doing a really good job of training my humans. When I want something I stare at them, then hit their foot and give a little bark. They have learned that is my way of telling them that I want out or want to be in their lap. My other little sibling-dog Cooper, and I zoom around the yard so fast that Mom says its like lightening. They say that there is continuous laughter at our house.

Grammy, you should come with your Sister, Naunie, next time she comes to the shelter to bring us more rescue dogs. Mom says she will bring me in to show you how beautiful I am.

I have finally decided to stop digging because it irritates Mom so bad, but I still chew on her plants every once in a while. I still sleep in a crate at night next to Cooper and Haas in our bedroom. Haas may be bigger, but I am in charge of the house and yard. My people love me and I love them very much. (Mom: Thanks again for our little girl.) Mama Dott, as you can see, I’m doing really well, so be happy for me, OK? Gracie, Mascot of the -----------.

We had been quite sad that we had missed getting a chance to visit with my sister, Saturday, but it was really wonderful to get this email from her to catch up on how she is doing. Auntie Naunie always tells Grammy that she’s doing great when she goes over there, but still, it was nice to hear from her ourselves! We can hardly wait to get some new pictures of her! I had to use old ones in this post as you saw… You will find the Post about Gracie going to her new home HERE.

Today’s questions are:
1. Gracie went to live in her new home in ****, CA.
2. Gracie is Mascot and her Mom is the Director of what rescue? --- -------- ------ -- --------
3. Name at least one of the two adult Chorgis that went with us: --------

For new readers/players, here are the rules: There will be 5 sessions, (this is the 3rd one) and the winners who answer all questions in each puzzle correctly, will each get a Badge to display for the weekly wins. (See last session's Winners Badge) At the end of the 5 sessions, all of the winner’s names will be put into a Corgi Toss and the Grand Prize Winner will be chosen.
The Grand Prize Winner will get their choice of one of two prizes…

1. A “Little Dott Finds A Home” book (see sidebar)

OR

2. A $15 Gift Certificate to our Country Corgi CafePress Shop (We’ve added a LOT of new designs – here are a few…)

AND

A $10 donation in your name to the Unity Thrift and Outreach Dog Rescue that Grammy’s Sister, Auntie Naunie, works with. They take around 50 dogs and puppies to no-kill shelters on the coast in various cities every month (over 1,000 dogs saved already) and have helped pay for over 400 spays/neuters this past year!

The following link is to a Newspaper Article about Linda Hodges (Trixie) and Unity Thrift and Outreach if you’d like to know more.  (Auntie Naunie is just to Mrs. Hodges right, in the purplish blue top.)

Remember, too, that I put on comment moderation during the game so that everyone has a equal chance of coming up with the answers. I will moderate and show the comments after Midnight. on Wednesday, so you have until then to get in your guesses for this week’s contest! Good Luck, Everyone!

Oh, and if you want to know more about one of Grammy's old dogs that was one of Grandma OC's best friends, check out the Tuesday's Show & Tail Post on Grammy's other blog, A Country Grammy's Walk With God.   These are hosted by Angela over at West Virginia Treasures each week, and are where you can share stories about animals you know, have known, or have seen.  Grammy puts things about the horses we have and other animals she's had in the past, there sometimes.
