We DID it… We Kept the Secret! by Mercy Wigglebottom

We DID it… We Kept the Secret! See Mr. Mango… we TOLD you we could keep a secret! Did we do good? Did WE!?

A few weeks ago, we got a quick visit from Mr. Mango. I was out going to school, doing some leash training when suddenly we heard this huge scary noise coming across the sky. It about scared the LIFE out of me!!!
Vid of jet

GrandPaw picked me up and we watched it go over and then it circled around and came down for a landing, and out came the most hugest dog we’d EVER seen!

You guessed it! Mr. Mango, himself, had come to visit with us. We had been told about him and his visit to Corgi Country during Operation Wack-A Squirrel, but that was before we were born.

He had come to personally invite Grandma OC to be a JUDGE for the 2010 Mango Minster Dog Show! He asked her to judge the Herding Class for him. She talked with him for a while, and said that she would let him know.

He talked to us for a little bit, and asked us to promise that we wouldn’t say anything until everything was finalized, and we DIDN'T, even though that was a BIG secret... (Aren't you proud of us?) Then Mr. Mango got back into his jet and headed back to Master Chew Sits. He said he was glad to get out of the snow for a while.

Grandma wasn’t sure, at the time, and had to think about it because of her health issues. Grandma has let Mr. Mango know that she has accepted the honor and responsibility that he has bestowed upon her. So now Grandma OC is really working a lot with Mama Dott so that she will be able to take care of the responsibility of running Corgi Country while Grandma is gone to Mr. Mango’s for the judging. She will leave at the end of January for about a week.

Grandma OC is judging the Herding Group, so she is hoping to have a fairly big showing of “herding dogs” of ANY breed. Her main criteria will be pictures that “show the action” of a dog “herding” something, be it bird, bug, livestock, kids, etc., like this one of our Great Grandpa, Buddy. Rules for entering are HERE.

To make it completely fair, and since this can’t be judged on looks, she will do two “corgi tosses.” Everyone who makes it through the original criteria (action herding shot) will have their names and/or pictures put on paper and tossed out into a specific area, and then she will choose seven to ten for her first cut (as in regular shows). This will be taped so that it can be seen. The final cut will be chosen from those and the results will be posted on the Mango Minster site on the Herding Dog Judging Day.

Because of this judging formula, we have been told that we can enter this class too, if we want… We aren’t sure if we will enter or if we will go for “Working Dogs.” We are just so excited… Pippin is just DANCING!!!

OC: Come on, you “Herding Dogs” out there, get your pics in! We’ve heard there are some pretty great prizes coming in for the winners!

That was an amazing post! I loved those pictures of my large and handsome self arriving at your estate. I hope the jet didn't scare you too much. And that happy dance! Wow! I am going to try those moves myself.

Slobbers,
Mango

P.S. Momma is laughing and smiling at your photos.

Great dancing! You've got the Happy Dance down to a T. Just perfect! Maybe you should be on Dancing with the Stars! I would give you a 10 for your dance moves!

It is so cold and snowy here in West Virginia that I hope that it will warm up so I can go out and try to get some great shots of my girls herding abilities to enter in your show! Right now all they are interested in is laying on the couch inside the house! They are outside dogs who now think they are house dogs! I even let my old gal who is 10 sleep in my daughters bedroom last night because it was so cold on her.

Hugs,
Angela

Great Torso Moves in your dance there! I like your planned judging method! I will have to consider something like that! The sporty dogs are getting outta control! It is very exciting to have lots of count test ants but choosing a winner will be very difficult!

Yay, I love reading about the MM2010. I'm so excited. I'm so glad I've entered a different category. You guys are too talented, plus I couldn't really dance on one foot now, could I? Hmmm Grrreat post!

What a great MM shop you made! I love it. And it's very very good of you to support the NEADS dogs! It'll make a big difference.
Thanks from a volunteer!

Well your article helped me terribly much in my college assignment. Hats off to you post, wish look audacious in the direction of more interrelated articles in a jiffy as its anecdote of my pet question to read.
