Martha and Bailey’s Strike…

Martha and Bailey have been holding a strike to try to get more pay (treats & snacks) for the pictures our humans use on these blogs. We want them to know that we HAVE participated, but our Mom gave in very quickly and especially since she is training the pups to come when called, etc., and if they get something she feels guilty if WE don’t, the treat scale (pay scale) has raised dramatically in our house.

Here are a few of the shots that Mom shot while we were in full strike mode … BEFORE the pay scale was raised around here. In this one, we reminded Dott that we needed to run AWAY when we saw the camera come out...

Gimli rolled over and tried to use a camouflage technique... Note that they ALL still play with Sasha’s Puppy Shower gift… at least whenever BG will let them (HE loves the squeaky)

Pip wouldn’t turn around and Mercy crouched down behind the toy in THIS one…

Grace promptly turned HER back on the camera, too!

Dott has had a really hard time remembering to fight her conditioned life-time and not pose the second she hears the camera coming on sound. She has had pictures taken of her since the moment (literally) that she was born, and knows that sound means to pose “pretty.”

I think that this thing has been the hardest on her as she is a real photo hog. (Dott yelling in background: That's "Picture Princess" to you, Bro!!!) You should see the ratio of the amount of pics of her compared to the amount of pics of the rest of us put together!!! Probably about 3 to 1 if not MORE!!!

Her Dad is the one that is usually behind the camera and therefore, it has a tendency to turn toward her almost constantly! NOW it has a tendency, during puppy shots, to turn toward Mercy…

Anyway, we just wanted you to know that around here, the strike worked pretty well! Thanks, Martha and Bailey for the idea!!!

That was a most wonderful and thoughtful effort in support of the strike. We love the camouflage tactic!

what a cute post, Linda!! If I had known about the strike, I'm sure Koda would have participated! but he's always sooo richly rewarded for just about anything these days it seems like (got to cut down on those treats of his:)

Dott sounds sooooo like Martha! She is always having her pic taken - there are more pics of her than me!
When she first arrived she was terrified of the camera - now she just shamelessly poses like Dott!
We are very impressed with your strike action and thought your camouflage tactic was particularly creative!!!
We will post your great efforts in our Part 2 of the Supporters Action - we are glad you have had success with you human.
We are almost there - once mum stops mentioning the F.. word we are sure everything will be resolved!
I mean do we look FAT to you?????
love and kisses Bailey xxxx oh yes Martha too xxxxx

Your posts and pics are always so enjoyable. The dogs are so loved, and you understand them so well.
It just warms the corgi cockles of my heart!
We have an 80lb guest at the corgi corral for a week or so. Jim's mom has moved here from Colorado, and her golden Dolly is a big, blonde bombshell. Jake's in love, and Addie is being a good sport. We live in a cottage, 720 square feet, so we are literally stepping over dogs!!!

Sounds like everyone did a great job "upping" the treat scale!!

I think you are one household of photogenic puppy dogs no matter what the pose!!

Nice to meet you corgis! Such cuties you are! Thanks for stopping by and saying hello and we are delighted to meet you pups! Yes Brain games are good fun, though as Dozer pointed out they only keep a pup busy for so long! Still it is easy and a nice change of pace. I have no experience really with puppies but imagine they would play fine with such a thing. You also asked about the jug. It is awesome and keeps moose busy for ages. Here are some links to posts about it:

I got the jug on amazon for the best deal but this site has several unique toys AND they support military working dogs and other charities: http://www.helpingudders.com/ToyCollection.htm
Note that the older version had a rope in it and the new one has a rubbery tube, both versions could easily be chewed up by my Moose but he doesn't b/c he is busy getting food out. My foster pup demolished our first one though so your 'mileage may vary'!

sorry for the rambles!

What a great web log. I spend hours on the net reading blogs, about tons of various subjects. I have to first of all give praise to whoever created your theme and second of all to you for writing what i can only describe as an fabulous article. I honestly believe there is a skill to writing articles that only very few posses and honestly you got it. The combining of demonstrative and upper-class content is by all odds super rare with the astronomic amount of blogs on the cyberspace.
