Puppy Shower Continued...

Hi... We are back with the rest of the Puppy Shower that Sasha and her Mommy hosted for us. By the way, the gifts are getting a lot of use (the ones that weren't eaten right away, anyway.) It is so cute watching the babies when they wake up from their naps. They stretch and move around, then jump up and toddle really fast off of their blanket and onto the Pup-Pee Pads to do their business. THANKS AGAIN, Sasha and Mommy!

Let's see... last time we had gotten all of the gifts open. Right away, BG took the drumstick chewies over to Grammy and told her that she needed to open them.

Grammy said that first, we all needed to clean up the wrappers from the presents, so we got busy cleaning...

Mama OC was excited to get to the snacks, too, so even she got busy cleaning...

By all working together, we got everything cleaned up pretty quickly!

Grammy was busy with the camera, so she had Mama OC take the package of drumsticks to Robert so he could open them up for us.

Those things are TOTALLY YUMMY, and all of us enjoyed them completely. I even got two!!!

When we were done with those Yummy snackers, Robert brought the pups out. Gracie started barking... She wanted to play!

She wanted to practice playing bitey-face, as she has been studying Mango's technique. She got Mercy to help, and they got down to it. Gracie: Hey, Mr. Mango, is this any better?

What about this? Do you think I'm getting the hang of it, Mr. Mango?

After the little ones played for a while, Robert set out one of the Pup-Pee Pads to let them look at and sniff. They thought it was very interesting...

After that, he showed them that pretty squeaky. Neelix and Gracie snuck up and gave it the once over.

Gimli thought it was barking at him when Robert squeaked it, so he barked back!

He wasn't at all sure about that toy that barked back at him...

Robert tried to get everyone lined up for pictures, but the pups weren't in a co-operative mood. Neelix snuck away to give that "barking toy" a closer look, again.

Since then, as I mentioned before, the Pup-Pee Pads have gotten plenty of use, and they still like to play with the pretty squeaky. We all had so much fun at our Puppy Shower!

We can't thank you and your Mommy enough, Sasha. You are truly special friends, and Grammy is sending up special prayers that blessings come your way! Bye for now... Dott

Sasha Sent us a Puppy Shower!

Wow! We have got such WONDERFUL friends! Everyone has had such sweet things to say about me and the babies, and now, Sasha sent us a BUNCH of presents for a Puppy Shower! There are so many that it will probably take a couple of posts to get them all in!

We could hardly wait to start opening them! First, we pulled out stuffing paper...

Then we got the first gift out and opened it up...

Oooo... would you look at THAT! My Favorite! Chicken Breast Jerky!

Mmm... I wonder what is in this interesting smelling paper... Oooo... It's PRETTY, and it squeaks... A pretty squeaky! I love squeakies! Grammy says it is supposed to be a perfume bottle, but I don't smell horse apples, cowpies or mud hen...

Goodness! ANOTHER gift... This one says it is for everyone. I wonder if I should let Mama OC help me open this? Hey, Ma...

Mama, look at this! It says it is for you, BG and Sadie, too! Help me open it, ok?

Mama, do you think you can get that side open? I'll work on this side...

Oh, WOW! Would you look at THAT! MORE crunchables! Drumstick treats! Cool!

Isn't this GREAT! Look at all the totally neat stuff that Sasha and her Mommy sent for our Puppy Shower... AND we still have something else in the bag!

Wasn't that a nice picture of Sasha... and what a SWEET message of congratulations. Let's see what's in this last package... Mmmm... THIS REALLY smells interesting!

WOW! Would you look at all the LOOT! Yummies, a Pretty Squeaky, and Pup-Pee Pads! THOSE will definitely come in handy because these little guys are really full of it and it is getting hard for me to keep up with the clean-up job!
I'm going to go and play with my pretty new squeaky. Something pretty always cheers a girl up when she is feeling tired and chewed on...

This is getting pretty long... I told you we would have to break it up into a couple of parts, so you will have to wait and see the rest next time. I'll catch you later... I'm going to go back and play some more with my pretty squeaky! Oh, Thank You, Sasha... and your sweet, thoughtful Mommy, too! This is just what I needed to cheer me up! I might even share this with the babies later and let you see what THEY think about all of this!

Another Week Has Passed...

Where IS the time going! The puppies are 3 WEEKS OLD already! Every day they seem to learn more and more things and can handle their little bodies better and better. They’re not quite “drunken sailors” anymore. By the way, you guys… Mom’s been singing/humming a crazy little song under her breath ever since you mentioned that! Something about “What do you do with a drunken sailor, earl-i in the moooorrrrning…” Says it’s STUCK in her head!

Gimli (which Grammy sometimes calls "Panda" or "Oreo") is still around 3 lbs. and he is starting to eat very well the few times a day that Grammy helps me to feed them. I’m so glad that she is starting to do that because they are so BIG and did I mention TEETH… They DEFINITELY have TEETH now!!!

At the rate that they are growing, and with the TEETH... Did I mention, TEETH!... that they are getting (which my Dad aptly describes as little needles) I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I should quit nursing them sometime soon... I don't like to stay in the bed too much anymore because they seem to think I'm a teething toy!

Mercy is about 2 1/2 lbs. now. Dad says that he thinks she looks a lot like I did when I was a puppy.

Gracie is as big as Gimli . She is 3 lbs. too!

The last one to be weighed was little Neelix. He is a LOT littler than the others, and Dad and Grammy wonder if he is going to take after me and one of my other brothers that stayed pretty small. He's pretty fiesty, though, for his size!

The pups really love to play with their GrandPaw, and run right to him when they see him.

AND, would you look at these MOVES! Are those Corgi herding "hip checks" ALREADY, or WHAT!!!

I also think that I'm going to have to be careful what the kids look at on the Computer Monitor. I think they've been watching "Bitey Face" vids from Mango...

Ooooo... Guess What! When we went down on our mailrun today, their was a package from our friend, Sasha and her Mom. Mama OC said something about a "Baby Shower," but I don't understand THAT... I keep my babies totally clean. Why would they need a shower?!

Ohhhhh... now I understand. Grammy explained that a "Baby shower" is when someone sends gifts for the babies! Isn't THAT COOL! I can hardly wait to open it and see what's inside!!! THANKS, Sasha and Your Mom!

Cool, Clear WATER!!!!

Hurray!!!! Yippee!!! Hurrah!!! PRAISE GOD!!! Lots of those words being thrown around here today by our people.

Apparently, it is a really GOOD thing that we have running water now because everyone is so happy! Robert’s been hauling in water every day for these past 7-8 months, so I don’t know what the problem was? I’M not so sure it's "good," though, because I’ve heard the words, “Dogs” and “baths” bandied around, today, too…

We did get to celebrate, though, because Mom had ordered some Dog Munchies from one of her friends, Yassy, from Twitter and Facebook, and we got them in today. Yassy is a sweet Japanese lady who moved to this country and has an online store called Yassy's Gourmet Dog Kitchen. Her taste tester is her corgi, named Palette, and we Twitter with her a lot.

Boy, anipals, wouldn’t THAT be a great job for a dog! Actually, Sasha’s Mom, Dozer’s Mom, and a few others have had some dog treat recipes they’ve shared too, so some of us have gotten to taste test, though not as regularly as Palette.

Yassy and Palette are also Facebook friends and have become fans of Little Dott. We love to read Yassy's Bow Wow K9 News blog and learn about various Japanese traditions, too! Mom has learned some really interesting things. Her latest blog was on “Osoji.” This is the first paragraph: “In Japan, every December, people do large scale cleaning. Cleaning in Japanese is called "soji" and, big scale cleaning is called "osoji". This even is to clean the house in large scale and welcome the new year with new spirit, and schools usually have large scale cleaning days.”

Mom thought it was really neat that the school kids were taught to take responsibility for keeping their schools cleaned as part of each school day.

Anyway, we got a piece of Deer’s Antler, and some Dogitos ( dehydrated grass-fed goat lung – they also come in beef and sheep) which are light and crunchy, like Cheetos, for dogs. Yassy threw in a Beef Trachea and a Lamb’s Trachea, which are natural sources of Glucosamine for older dogs with arthritis, which is probably what’s wrong with my hips. We thought that was really nice of her!

They’ve got rabbit ear, pig snout, Alligator, kangaroo and ostrich treats, too, as well as BullySticks! A long time ago, Mom and Dad had a jerky business that used to sell Kangaroo, Ostrich, Venison, Elk, Wild Boar and Alligator Jerky for people, and she says it was pretty good, so we will probably get to try some of those in the future.

Sadie’s pretty happy because she got the Deer Antler... We'll see about THAT!

Oh, dear. I’m starting to drool just thinking about all those different kinds of jerky. This is MOST UNlady-like. I better change the subject!

Dott is a pretty nervous Nelly because she doesn’t want to miss anything that’s going on out here, but she doesn’t want to leave her babies either, so she is constantly running back and forth between where we are and the back bedroom where her babies are.

She’s such a good Mommy, and has plenty of milk for the little suckers, which Mom is very happy about. Dott about chewed off BG’s nose when he made the comment about them looking like fat little toadys. He has been pouting around a lot since they were born because Dott and the babies are getting so much attention. Actually, I was a little pouty myself that first day, but Mom’s really been loving on me the last day or so, and says she will always love me best.

Today, Dad took a day off and has spent a lot of time loving on BG, too, so he is feeling a bit better. True, Dad was also working on the waterline with Robert...

Robert is driving everyone crazy as
he is totally besotted with being a Grand-Paw!

Hope everyone out there is having a great Labor Day Weekend! We sure are! I’m going to go back to chewing on that Deer Antler I confiscated…

P.S. Mom has started her own blog called A Country Grammy’s Walk With God. She will just be sharing some things that God shows her as she tries to walk with Him…

We’ve Got Such Wonderful Friends!

Today, we thought we would talk about some of the wonderful friends that we have made from our blogging!

Our VERY FIRST friend that ever left us a comment was Koda’s Mom, Betty, from A Corgi in Southern California.
She has been a true friend and followed us from the beginning of our time here on Blogger! It was through her encouragement and help that we stuck with it those first weeks of not knowing anyone, etc. She has introduced us to several other friends, and is an inspiration to us all the time.

Of course, who doesn’t know Mango , Dozer , or Khyra? These anipals are wonderful to have as friends, and they are so helpful and uplifting too! You’ll almost always get a smile, though sometimes you’ll find a tear or two, in their blogs as they share and care about so many of their anipals! Mom has been working on pictures of Dozer and Mango (with permission) for the Fair. (Mango's pic wasn't quite done yet when this scan was taken...)

Another two of our long time followers is Classy Chassy from Expressly Corgi, and CorgiDogMama from Corgi Dog News. They have such interesting blogs with various animals, vintage items, creative ideas, and interesting info. They are quiet, soothing, peaceful places to visit... like sitting beside a mountain stream. Mom counts them as really good friends and, of course, they have corgis, too.

By the way, speaking of Corgi Blogs, Gibson’s Mom, Kelly, over at Corgi Butts
is putting together a Corgi Calendar that will feature Corgis with Blogs. She wants people to submit their best Corgi Pics if they are interested in being on the Calendar. Their blog sites will be mentioned and any profits will go to the Lakeshore Corgi Rescue.

Another of our very best friends is Sassy Sasha , and her Mom. Sasha is a Shih Tzu like another of my Mom's sister's dogs, Mia (pictured), only Sasha is nice and we don't get along well with Mia. You should go check out the wonderful unicorn story that Sasha wrote with the help of a bunch of her Dog Bloggin’ friends. It is totally awesome! Wonderful fantasy, love for other animals, adventure, and a great moral!

Sassy and her Mom got the group story idea from another wonderful new friend named Jan Mader. This fun lady has two blogs that are both wonderful to read. Animal Talk,
is about her horse, Tango, her dogs, and other animals that she knows and loves. Her other blog, Ignite to Write , is an awesome blog with lots of fun games for her readers to share in with their comments. “Try it… You’ll Like IT!!!”

Another blog you might like if you like to write poetry and/or short stories and want to post them someplace other than your own blog is at Maya's blog, The (W)riting Room. This young friend is very talented and wants to share her blog with other writers. She lives in Australia. Mom posts some of her poetry and drawings there sometimes.

We’ve got other awesome friends “across the pond,” too! Martha and Bailey Basset are great friends. We love taking the tours of Scotland that they host for us, and Clive the Autism Assistant Dog from Ireland inspires me to do MY best as a helper dog, as he cares for his "Little Man." Their blogs give us a chance to learn about their countries and people. Isn't blogging and finding friends around the world NEAT!

We've got another corgi friend named Benny who recently moved to California from Japan! We’ve got so many friends out there that there is no way to name you all, but we appreciate each and every one of you! Twix, Coco, Tank, Hawk, Cooper Creek Cardigans, Infrared Goggles (and her corgi, Teggy)… the list goes on and on!

We sniffed our way over to see Brutus, our newest blogging friend, today. He is a tough French Bulldog, and he has some neat rescue greyhound friends. He had a video of his ant hunting and so we are awarding him Dott’s Mighty Hunter Award
for ant killing. Congratulations, Mighty Hunter!

The Winner is… and Birthdays!

We had a very good turnout and I want to thank all of you who have been following our blog and commenting. We have made SO MANY new friends since we started! We had 50+ Total Entries for this contest, at 1 per post!

Now…. Drum roll… for the winner of our 100th Post Contest:

Congratulations, Chicamom85 (Anne) & Sasha! We hope you like Dott's book. Both Robert and Dott "autographed" it for you. Please email me with your info.

Today was my pup’s birthday! They are 3 human, or 21 dog years old today! We all got extra jerky snacks and special food. Robert went and got us party hats. Food… Hurray! Hats… NOT Hurray!

He even got us little plastic champagne glasses and put some really good, sweet stuff in them for us to drink (non-alcoholic, of course).

Mom worked a lot of the day on a post of our growing up from first born pics, but then decided she would post that a little later as it has a lot of pics and this post will already be long enough… especially since she is hoping to be able to get the vids in of the drawings… Did I say DrawingS… Yes! I did! They decided that since it was the pup's birthday today, as well as the 100th Post Contest drawing, that they would have a SECOND drawing for another Little Dott Book. I got to choose this winner!

Second Drum Roll, Please…

And Congratulations to ClassyChassy (Monica) from Expressly Corgi! Your book is autographed too! Please email me with your info as well!

Dott’s Tuesday Report

We just got back from a quick run up the coast in our “C” Team Van, to Dozer’s place where we helped to get things back under some semblance of control… (C for Corgi, of course).

We couldn’t stay for long as we would have liked to visit afterwards because we got news of another uprising in our area. We called on Mango for a little help and OC flew her fastest jet to pick him up for the emergency. She fed him livers all the way back, and he was ready to “Reek” havoc with his WMD (Weapons of Mango’s Digestion).

Our attack was very successful as you can see from the gassed squirrels littering our ditch, and our gas masks worked perfectly! Thank Goodness Mango-zilla is on our side!!!

PS: Thanks so much Sasha for the "Love Ya Award" you gave us. We are so glad that you like visiting with us! We love all of our new Bloggy Pals, too!

Quick Report From BG…

Just a few fast words tonight from Corgi Country, as we are off to help Dozer, Cooper and Dottie. Dozer is injured, Dottie is missing and Cooper is trying to hold off the squirrel hordes on his own... Hang in there, guys! We are on our way!

Yesterday, while on an 8 hour pass, Mom and Dad took me to the park where their church was having a big picnic and softball game with another church. Imagine my surprise when I thought I caught a glimpse of Khyra! When we got closer, I saw that this new husky had been clipped because this area is so hot. I got to meet her, and found out that her name was Sasha, like our new Shih Tzu blogging pal. Mom had her sister, Mimi, take a picture since Mom forgot to take her camera. What do you all think?

Also, we stopped by Sassy Sasha and her Mom’s blog, and she had caught what she thought was a squirrel! She attacked like the true warrior she is and TOOK IT DOWN!!!
She also came up with a great idea to help cheer up Dozer since he is re-cooper-ateing from an injury, and can’t fight for a while, and Tank says that we will be able to use the “Purple Dog Bone Award” to keep up the morale of our wounded fighters… For this service, we are going to award her Dott's Mighty Hunter's Award (After all, she THOUGHT it was a real squirrel...)

Mom says I’m not eligible for this award either since my wound was gotten for protecting my Mom and not from OWAS fighting…

PS… Mama OC says to let you all know that she enjoys grooming for a while, but if you look at the picture when she was “discussing” that she was done, you will see, that when she is done, she MEANS it!!! She crawls up on Mom’s shoulder, puts her head by Mom’s ear, and grumble-talks until Mom gets the idea! She especially HATES having her “britches” combed out!
