Grammy… It’s ME… Gimli!

Grammy has been so busy! She’s had no time for me, her new puppy. The one who needs attention!

I’ve been so BORED!

Finally she sat down at the computer. Ah, HA! She’s within my reach!

Hey! Grammy… I NEED attention!

I LOVE you… Don’t you love ME?

Very good! You FINALLY got the hint! That jerky will help…

I knew you loved me…

Pippin’s Peek at the Past Puzzle #1

Mercy had her Miss Mercy Monday Mystery game, and my Dad told Grammy that I should get a chance to host a game, too! We decided to call it the Pippin’s Peek at the Past Puzzle, and think that it will also help a lot of our new followers to learn a bit more about the Country Corgis.

It will follow the same format as Mercy’s game, with 5 sessions, and the winners who answer the puzzle correctly will each get a Badge to display for the weekly wins. At the end of the 5 sessions, all of the winner’s names will be put into a Corgi Toss and the Grand Prize Winner will be chosen.

The Grand Prize Winner will get their choice of one of two prizes…

1. A “Little Dott Finds A Home” book  OR

2. A $15 Gift Certificate to our Country Corgi CafePress Shop (We’ve added a LOT of new designs – here are a few…)

AND

A $10 donation in your name to the Unity Thrift and Outreach Dog Rescue that Grammy’s Sister works with. This is also the Dog Rescue Group that Grammy has fostered for during emergencies (including our dad… ooops…)

That is what Oskar chose for his GABE prize. Naunie (Grammy’s Sister) and her friend (Trixie) were very happy to receive this help and say a BIG “Thank You, so much!” to Oskar.

The following 2 links go to Newspaper Articles about Linda Hodges (Trixie) and Unity Thrift and Outreach if you’d like to know more.

Now, for our first Pippin’s Peek at the Past Puzzle. Today, one of our favorite things happened! It happens every two or three months and usually results in a TREASURE HUNT for all of us! What fun! If you follow the link, you will see the very FIRST of the Treasure hunts my brother and sisters got to attend with the rest of my family! Gimli wrote that one, and please remember that we were only 3 months old, and just learning to write at the time, ok?

Below, we are chewing on pieces of the treasure that Grammy brought in for us today (because it started raining outside just as they finished…)

More, Grammy… I need seconds…

thirds?

Stay back and you won’t lose your nose!

Mama Dott REALLY gets into chewing on HER piece of treasure!

Yummy! This is SOOOOO GOOOOODDD!!!

Pippin’s Peek at the Past Puzzle Questions (You must answer ALL 3 of them to win this week’s challenge)
1. What happens that creates our “treasure?”
2. What IS our chewy “treasure?”
3. What do they have Cory do to make him give up his part of the treasure? (Hint: Gimli got muddy because of this…)

Remember, too, that Grammy will have the comments in a "moderation mode" so that everyone will have a fair chance at figuring out the puzzle. You will have until approximately Wednesday at Noon, Pacific Time to get in your answers.  Hope you enjoy this week's Peek at the Past Puzzle.

Creek Road Trip

Papa said he wanted to go someplace that was quiet and “restful for the soul,” after this past week and losing his Auntie, so we took a little road trip. We went up to a place called Reyes Creek because he wanted to see what Pip and me would do around running water.

Gimli had been to a creek the last time they took Little Bear home. (OOoops… apparently, with all that’s happened, he never got to share that…) Grammy says we’ll try to do that later.

It was a nice drive up to the mountains, about an hour and a half away. Here are the pictures Grammy took before the camera ran out of batteries… These were taken near where they sat and rested…

And these were taken where the Creek runs over the road…

Grammy made two short vids so that you can hear the creek running… It was very restful, and Papa seemed to feel a little better when we left. We are glad he thought about doing this!

Another Little Visitor… by Gimli

First, I’m supposed to tell you that our WONDERFUL neighbor came over with his tractor on Saturday and plowed our back and front pastures, and then planted grain hay for us like he did last year!

Grammy says that this is a real BLESSING for us because last year, even with the minimal amount of rain we got, we had enough hay to feed the horses for almost 3 months!

We had 3 horses then, and one was that rescue horse that was so skinny and ate enough for 2 horses. If we get some good rains over the next few months, we should have enough food to last the horses 5-6 months, and Grammy tells us that is a GOOD thing! Sounds like more money for food, treats and toys for us, so I agree!

That machine he used sure was NOISY though!!! We barked and barked until we got in trouble, so then we just kept a close eye on what he was doing while he was in our pastures.

Later that day, another of Grammy’s grandkids came to visit with us. This one is called Blaze (Grammy has permission to put her pic and name on here) and she runs EVERYWHERE, and doesn’t tend to slow down AT ALL… EVER! She wore US out!

She LOVES horses and wanted to help Grammy with feeding them. I guess she WAS a big help to Grammy that way! After they were done feeding, we went out into the side pasture and let Blaze run. Grammy told us to stay with her and keep an eye on her, so we tried…

We ran and ran for a LONG time!

I think that we wore Grammy out just watching us! We finally went back into the yard, and Grammy sat down at one of the picnic tables… then Blaze saw our Obstacle Course… Here we go again!

Up and down, round and back up, across and down… I guess that kids like our fun place as much as WE do!!! GrandPaw did REAL GOOD!!!

We had a blast with THIS grandkid, too! See our butt’s wiggle…

Grandma OC says to tell you that she has a BIG announcement for our next blog, so be sure and check it out, OK!

Little Bear is Visiting…

Grammy’s 6 year old grandson, Little Bear, is visiting and we have been SOOOO BUSY!!! He is in bed now, so we are going to just take a few minutes to post a few quick pics to give you an idea of how things are going, and then fill you in more later…

Pippin: I got it!!! See Ya, later!

Gimli: Me! Me! I LOVE Tug-a-war!!! I LOVE these new Christmas Presents!

OC: Come on already... Throw the ball!

Mercy: Get his ear, Auntie Sadie!!!

Pippin: My Buddy!!!

Mercy: Aww, come on... It's only the 50th time we've run through this course today!!!

Grammy’s loving every tired minute of this, and so are we!!!
