Dott’s Tuesday Report

We just got back from a quick run up the coast in our “C” Team Van, to Dozer’s place where we helped to get things back under some semblance of control… (C for Corgi, of course).

We couldn’t stay for long as we would have liked to visit afterwards because we got news of another uprising in our area. We called on Mango for a little help and OC flew her fastest jet to pick him up for the emergency. She fed him livers all the way back, and he was ready to “Reek” havoc with his WMD (Weapons of Mango’s Digestion).

Our attack was very successful as you can see from the gassed squirrels littering our ditch, and our gas masks worked perfectly! Thank Goodness Mango-zilla is on our side!!!

PS: Thanks so much Sasha for the "Love Ya Award" you gave us. We are so glad that you like visiting with us! We love all of our new Bloggy Pals, too!

Quick Report From BG…

Just a few fast words tonight from Corgi Country, as we are off to help Dozer, Cooper and Dottie. Dozer is injured, Dottie is missing and Cooper is trying to hold off the squirrel hordes on his own... Hang in there, guys! We are on our way!

Yesterday, while on an 8 hour pass, Mom and Dad took me to the park where their church was having a big picnic and softball game with another church. Imagine my surprise when I thought I caught a glimpse of Khyra! When we got closer, I saw that this new husky had been clipped because this area is so hot. I got to meet her, and found out that her name was Sasha, like our new Shih Tzu blogging pal. Mom had her sister, Mimi, take a picture since Mom forgot to take her camera. What do you all think?

Also, we stopped by Sassy Sasha and her Mom’s blog, and she had caught what she thought was a squirrel! She attacked like the true warrior she is and TOOK IT DOWN!!!
She also came up with a great idea to help cheer up Dozer since he is re-cooper-ateing from an injury, and can’t fight for a while, and Tank says that we will be able to use the “Purple Dog Bone Award” to keep up the morale of our wounded fighters… For this service, we are going to award her Dott's Mighty Hunter's Award (After all, she THOUGHT it was a real squirrel...)

Mom says I’m not eligible for this award either since my wound was gotten for protecting my Mom and not from OWAS fighting…

PS… Mama OC says to let you all know that she enjoys grooming for a while, but if you look at the picture when she was “discussing” that she was done, you will see, that when she is done, she MEANS it!!! She crawls up on Mom’s shoulder, puts her head by Mom’s ear, and grumble-talks until Mom gets the idea! She especially HATES having her “britches” combed out!

Silly Saturday

Saturday, Mom decided that it was such a nice day that we should all go out into the back yard and she would try to brush out some of my excess hair... WHO ME??? Excess Hair? (All vids are short- 10 to 17 sec. long each)

OC enjoys being brushed

While I was enjoying my brushing, the kids decided to get out some of their high spirits by FRAPing around...

Dott FRAPs with BG & Doug

Sadie played for a while with Doug...

Dad came out after awhile, and Doug asked him to play for a little bit...

After an hour or so, I decided that was enough and Mom and I discussed it. Finally, she agreed, and I got down.

Mom says that I gave birth to a huge tribble... but at least she will have a hundred less dust bunnies in our herd...

BG’s Report on the Home Front:

I came back from combat to find that “Doug Dog,” is trying to horn in on my Mom’s affections in many sneaky ways. I am constantly having to be on the lookout that he stays out of my Dad’s chair, away from my Mom, and out of OUR waterbed!

Take this morning… I absolutely HAD to go outside for a few minutes, and what did I find upon my return? That DOG had been on Mom’s bed! I could smell him.

He had gotten up there and ROLLED all over Dad’s side of the bed! I got in there just in time to see him smirk and jump down.

Mom keeps telling me to “be nice…” and I am trying to be, but REALLY! Is NOTHING sacred?! THAT is our BED!!!

Sure, he is lonely and wants someone to love on him. I’m sure that he really craves a “truly HIS person…” but Mom and Dad are MY people!

And, he keeps bugging my sister, Dott. She is trying to be nice too, because our people keep telling us we have to be.

He follows her around all the time unless she goes into her room through her little door that isn’t big enough for the rest of us, or gets on her recliner by Mom’s computer in the Front Room, where Mom won’t let him get to her.

I guess he IS sad because he doesn’t have his own person. I hope that we will either find his people, though no one has advertised for him, or that he will be able to go to the shelter on the coast where the dogs Mom’’s Sister takes find excellent homes right away.

They have waiting lists for some breeds, and the homes are screened to be sure they are good ones.

I think they'd better hurry though because Mom has a tendency (as mentioned before) to fall in love with the foster animals she takes in...

Sadie plays with him, and is pretty nice to him, and she tells me I should be nice to him too. I GUESS, I could TRY to be nicer.

It shouldn’t be much longer, and we DO want to give his people, if he has some that want him, a chance to find him. I would hate for someone not to let MY people have a chance to find me if I got lost…

NOTE from Dott: Martha, we would be happy to have you or Bailey join the CAF (Corgi Air Force) as it is run like the Foreign legion and anyone who wants to join is welcome, but since you are so far away, you might want to start a Bassett Bombardier Group… what do you think? Would you need permission from OWAS Commander Tank?

OWAS Report: Dott

Dott’s OWAS report from S. Central Calif.—Oil country:

Before I start my OWAS report, I want to thank Commander Tank for his organization of this war. It is so great to have all the new technology that OWAS has provided. We have been doing gorilla warfare for so long, using “sticks and spears” or maybe I should say “tooth and nail,” in comparison to what we have now… you have no idea how grateful we are!

I was on video recon, when I intercepted a communication between the squirrels and the rabbits. Having long suspected a secret alliance between the two, this came as no shock, but the subject of the message was quite disturbing.

It seems Osama-Bin-Squirrelly has been spotted in our area. As you may know he has masterminded several attacks on key K-9 resources. If he is in this area there can be only one target, pet-roll-e-um!
Pet-roll-e-um is one of the most valuable resources this area has to offer. It not only fuels our vehicles of war, but many of our everyday items are made from it as well. It is used for synthetic rubber, so there would be no more rubber training devices (aka. toys) to play with. Pet-roll-e-um is also used to make plastics, so there would be a shortage of squeaky bulbs. That would prevent the spread of our coded messages, crippling part of our intelligence community.
Auntie Sadie went on a night raid on their local headquarters. She is a master in night fighting, as she can’t be spotted and can sneak up on her unsuspecting victims using the night vision goggles she got over the internet a few months ago. Sadie had to use mouth to claw fighting techniques to subdue the night guard. She was able to gather enough info to confirm our worst fears.

The next morning BG led a strike. He opened up with his new 50 caliber machine gun, firing on anything that moved.
I love the big guns, and had been itching to try out my new rocket launcher.

Mama OC has joined the C.A.F. (Corgi Air Force) as it doesn’t hurt her hips to fly the jets. She led a squadron of fighters in an aerial assault on the underground bunkers that line our ditch.
We have saved the local supply of pet-roll-e-um for now, but we are unclear if we have taken out Osama-Bin-Squirrelly. Please advise…

P.S. Robert said he couldn't let me go into combat by myself, so he has decided to be our combat photographer so he can stay near me... MASTERS! (Shaking her head...)

Weekend continued…

Last time, I told you about what we did most of Saturday. It was getting kind of late in the evening by the time we started home and they hadn’t had a chance to go shopping like they had planned on doing, so we stopped at a little market in a small town on the way home from delivering Dancer. Mom was thrilled to find that the meat prices were pretty good, and they had Oxtails for sale.

Her mom used to make oxtail soup and she hadn’t had it for a long time, so she got a pack of them, came home and started to make some. She made some other stuff for dinner since oxtails have to cook for several hours, and boy, did they start to smell GREAT by the late evening. She had put in the garlic, onion and seasonings while cooking the meat, and after about 4 hours, she added pearl barley and let it simmer another hour.

Let me tell you, WE were all drooling to beat the band! It was pretty awful to find out that she wasn’t serving it until later because she wanted to add vegetables and we didn’t have any.

At least she DID pull out a few of the bones (one each) for us to chew on that night, but we did get the rest of the bones when they had the soup yesterday.

Sunday, our people went into town for church as usual and then to Mimi’s (where WE had stayed with Kisses and Dolly during the services). After lunch, Mom and Dad took me with them to the Big Town to shop at Costco and Winco, take some food to Auntie K (Dad’s elderly aunt) and shop for my new Service Dog harness and matching leash.

I got to go into Costco since I am a Service Dog and it was a bit warm to stay in the car. Mom explained to the man about my jobs, and that, though I wouldn’t be working in their store, I needed to go places with Mom in case she needed me, and it was to hot to stay in the car at the time. They were very nice about it.

After running our other errands, we went into PetCo and Mom found what she said would be a perfect working harness. It has mesh so it shouldn’t be to hot and the saddlebags are bright and can hold my Service Dog papers, and if it is hot, some ice packets to keep me cool. It is Neon Green and black, and she got a nice black leash to go with it. What do you think? Not to bad, if I do say so myself… except for the bare patch on my butt!

On the home front, Doug and I are NOT hitting it off… or maybe we are (as in trying to knock off each other’s blocks). HE is trying to weasel his way into MY Mom’s affections… and MY Dad’s, too! I haven’t been able to relax in my chair at all because I have to stay glued to Mom’s side to warn him off.

She really got after me when we had a … BIG DISCUSSION, shall we say, this evening. She even got out the water bottle and squirted me when I kept warning him to stay on the other side of the room… or, preferably, OUT of the room.

We are proud to let you all know that we have asked to become officially involved in Tank’s Operation Whack-A-Squirrel. We have been gorilla fighting in Squirrel Wars around here for years as most of you know who follow our adventures, but we believe that it will be nice to have others from all over dog blog land to help. Dozer and Mango have done a magnificent job recruiting in their recent blogs!

Dott is hereby presenting Tank, Mango and Dozer with her Mighty Hunter Award for going all out and organizing this momentous task! As Tank gets reports of kills in, we have asked him to refer the Mighty Hunters to us so that they can also pick up their awards.

VERY BUSY weekend...

This was a VERY BUSY weekend! On Saturday, Mom got several calls fairly early.

First her sister called to say that they (she and her friend that does dog rescues) had found a Corgi running around and the people in the area had told them that he had been out there several days. Mom had told them before, that if they needed foster care for a week or so for any corgi or corgi mixes they found, we would do it.

It hasn’t been too bad so far, because the ones that have come have been pups or large, outdoor dogs. One of my brothers, Zen ( the black one) came back for a couple of months while his Mom found another place to live that took dogs, and it only took a day or to, for us to start getting along again.

Robert went on into town and picked up the corgi we are calling Doug. WE found all this out, when he got home and started to introduce us… We are not really happy about this one at all! For one thing, he is a full male, and he has a bit of an attitude.

Now, I ask you, if someone is doing you a FAVOR and letting you into THEIR OWN home, shouldn’t you show a little appreciation!

Doug hasn’t really been mean or anything, but he keeps marking EVERYTHING… including IN THE HOUSE. Mom is NOT thrilled about THAT!

They are working on that, but when WE try to tell him while they are talking to him about something, they get mad at us!

Dott hates hearing the word “NO,” and goes into her “Chi-shivers” as Mom calls them. She’s very nervous around him anyway, because he keeps following her around everywhere she goes. She finally told him in no uncertain terms to "Get your nose out of my TUSH!!!"

I guess that I should try to be nice to him since he doesn’t have a home… at least as far as we know. That is being checked on, and he will go to a No-kill shelter on the coast to find a new home if no one claims him.

The second call was from a young man about Dancer. Mom had put Dancer (aka. Crazy Horse) on Craigslist because she wanted him to have a good home where someone would have the time and ability to train him. He wanted to be loved on and have someone to pay attention to him all the time, and would chase old Cory all over the pastures. This was really bad for Cory’s bad leg.

Though he was a very smart horse, he was also pretty hyper type, too, and needed someone to challenge him and give him a chance to feel useful. With Mom’s back problems, she just couldn’t be on her feet long enough to work with him, or take the chance of being yanked around by an unbroken young horse.

The young man came over to see him early Saturday afternoon. He really liked him and decided to buy him, so he went down into the little town near us to get his uncle’s trailer so that he could haul him to his place, about 40 miles away.

That trailer was to short, and Dancer was not trained to load, and bumped his head the first time he thought about going in, so we ended up borrowing an open topped stock trailer from our neighbor, and finally got him loaded after about 2 ½ hours.

Mom was very impressed with the way the young man handled Dancer, talking to him and not pushing him too hard, etc. We hauled him to his new home (I got to go) very slowly so that he wouldn’t have a problem with the wind in his eyes or ears, and Mom got to see the beautiful, young Paso Fino that the young man had trained, and that also helped her to feel better about letting Dancer go.

She still cried a little and hugged and petted me a lot, because Mom tends to fall in love with all the animals she takes in. I was happy to help her get through her sadness, though, and snuggled up to her very close, giving her little licks and telling her I loved her.

This is getting pretty long, so I will probably have to finish it later. Mom has to use the computer a lot lately, what with getting things ready for her CafePress Shop, writing her Bible Study blog on Proverbs, Twittering, email, and Facebook, so our time is limited. We really need high speed internet or better yet, our own computer! BG
